Remembering The Past, Forging A Bright Future
The Spangler Volunteer Fire Company responded to a major fire at the old textile mill on Main Street. Despite the cold November temperatures, firefighters worked through the night to contain the blaze. The building, which had been a cornerstone of the community's economy since 1898, was severely damaged but the quick response prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring structures.
This event marked a turning point for the community, as residents came together to support the affected workers and their families. The fire station received donations from across Cambria County, strengthening the bonds between neighboring towns.
